Traditional Sacred Valley Tour
The three big names of the valley — Pisac, Ollantaytambo and Chinchero — plus the Taray viewpoint and a buffet lunch.
The complete route in a single day: Chinchero, the Maras salt mines, Moray, Ollantaytambo and Pisac. It leaves an hour earlier than the Traditional and costs US$2 more — in exchange, you trade the Taray viewpoint for the two places travelers most often ask us about.

The Maras salt pans: thousands of small pools on a hillside, harvested by hand.
Included
Moray’s rings of terraces, where each level sits at a slightly different temperature.
Included
A weaving demonstration in Chinchero before the Inca terraces and the colonial church.
IncludedTimes from our regular departures. Traffic and weather can shift them a little, and the order of stops may change slightly.
Your guide picks you up from your hotel, Airbnb or a meeting point in the historic center. The early start is what makes room for five sites in one day.
Follow alpaca fleece through a weaving family’s hands — spun into yarn, dyed with plants, woven on a waist loom — then walk through the Inca terraces and the colonial church.

A hillside of more than 3,000 salt pools, filled by a single salty spring and worked by families from the local community.

Circular terraces sunk into the ground like an amphitheater. The Incas used the difference in temperature between levels to try out crops.

Andean buffet at Rustica — or at 14 Inkas, Don Ángel or Tunupa if you upgraded when you booked.

A compact visit: the terraced fortress-temple, the Temple of the Sun and a few lanes of the Inca town below.

The terraces in the late light, with the Inca cemetery in view across the gorge, then half an hour in town for the craft market and its silver workshops.

Drop-off in the historic center, not at your hotel.
Entrance tickets: add the Tourist Ticket and the Maras entrance to your booking in the Add-ons step of the checkout, or pay them in cash (soles) on the day. Which ticket do I need?
Going on to Machu Picchu? Finish the day in Ollantaytambo for US$31: the tour ends at 15:30 at the Archaeological Park, 15 minutes on foot from the station (Pisac is not visited). Trains that fit: Inca Rail 16:36 and PeruRail 19:00. From the tour to your train → See the full tour →
Book ending in Ollantaytambo · US$31The earlier you cancel, the more comes back to you.

Five sites and a sit-down lunch take time. Leaving at 06:20 puts you in Chinchero at 07:40 and leaves room for the Maras salt mines and Moray before lunch at 12:00. You are back in central Cusco around 19:00.
Two: the Partial Cusco Tourist Ticket, which covers Chinchero, Moray, Ollantaytambo and Pisac, and a separate entrance to the Maras salt mines. Add both to your booking in the Add-ons step of the checkout, or pay them in cash (soles) on the day. Tickets explained.
No. It is a shared group of 17–18 travelers at most, with a certified bilingual guide and the same buffet lunch as the Traditional. The difference is the route. For a vehicle and guide reserved for your group alone, see the private day tour.
Yes, for US$31 — one dollar less, because the ride back to Cusco is not included. Switch the booking box to Ending in Ollantaytambo: the day runs Chinchero, the Maras salt mines, Moray, lunch in Urubamba and Ollantaytambo, and ends at 15:30 at the Archaeological Park, 15 minutes on foot from the train station; Pisac is not visited. From the tour to your train: the full guide.
The difficulty is easy. The steepest parts of the day are the terraces of Ollantaytambo and Pisac, and you can take them at your own pace. The highest point is Chinchero, at 3,762 m.
If this is your only day in the valley and Maras and Moray are on your list, this one. If you prefer a 07:20 start and longer visits to Pisac and Ollantaytambo, the Traditional. Side-by-side comparison.
